Chris LacyThe Story of Chris Lacy:
Social Equity & Hope in Cannabis

By Cannabis Industry Journal Staff

This is the story of Christopher Lacy and The TGC Group. Before he was old enough to drink, he went to prison for cannabis. Their story is one of misfortune, persistence, family and the dreadful effects that cannabis prohibition has had on impoverished BIPOC communities. His team recently won a conditional license under New Jersey’s social equity licensing program. Looking to the future, he hopes his business can be a force for good and that his story can inspire others to do the same.

Sponsored By MilliporeSigma

In this work various food products containing hemp have been analyzed, though all descriptions are valid for cannabis containing food as well. Hemp is known to accumulate heavy metals such as lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury, chromium or nickel in its roots, shoots, buds and seeds, and has been used for the remediation of contaminated soil (phytoremediation and phytoextraction). This report describes the analysis of various heavy metals in hemp-containing food samples by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) and identifies elements that are crucial in the analysis process.
